Indore, Madhya Pradesh | Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Friday criticized Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal over his perceived inaction on the Lokpal issue, which had been the cornerstone of Kejriwal's entry into politics during the "India Against Corruption" movement.
"Arvind Kejriwal began his political journey with the issue of 'India Against Corruption,' spearheaded by Anna Hazare. They fought for the Lokpal, and the UPA government fulfilled their demand by forming the Lokpal. But now, Kejriwal, who once sought to abolish corruption through the Lokpal, has failed to address it," Singh remarked during a public event in Indore.
Singh also commented on the alliance between Congress and AAP, emphasizing its ideological foundation at the national level against the BJP and RSS. "Our agreement with AAP was based on ideology and a shared opposition to the BJP-RSS at the national level. However, at the regional level, every party has the right to contest elections independently," he stated.
Taking a direct swipe at AAP, Singh added, "They should not talk about honest and dishonest politics because everyone knows where the other person stands."
