Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday highlighted the strengthening educational partnership between India and Australia, calling it a natural extension of the nations’ rapidly growing strategic and cultural ties. He was speaking at the ceremonial handover of the letter of intent involving the University of New South Wales (UNSW), one of Australia’s leading global institutions.

Pradhan expressed his appreciation for UNSW’s engagement with India, noting its reputation for academic excellence. “It gives me great pleasure to be present here today at the ceremonial handover of the letter of intent. The University of New South Wales, which is ranked 20th globally by QS, is one of Australia’s premier institutions and has an establishment of global academic repute,” he said.

Welcoming the visiting delegation, Pradhan acknowledged the presence of key Australian dignitaries who accompanied Education Minister Jason Clare—himself an alumnus of UNSW. He also recognised Ministers Andrew Giles and Julian Hill, underscoring the importance Australia places on educational collaboration with India.

“In recent years, India and Australia have come closer than ever before, and education is a natural extension of this partnership,” Pradhan said. “It is the bridge that connects our people today, our ideas, and our future generations to come.”
