By A Staff Reporter — Chennai: Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was present at the closing ceremony of the Chennai Grandmasters Chess Tournament 2024, celebrating the conclusion of one of India’s prominent chess events. The ceremony, held in Chennai, brought together esteemed players, officials, and chess enthusiasts in recognition of the tournament’s success.
Also attending were key figures from the sports administration, including Sports Department Secretaries, SDAT (Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu) Secretaries, and other senior officials. The presence of India’s renowned Chess Grandmasters, Viswanathan Anand and rising star Gukesh D, added to the ceremony’s significance, as both are influential figures in the world of chess and inspirations for young players nationwide.
