Delhi – BJP Delhi President Virendraa Sachdeva has announced that February 5 will be a significant day for the national capital, marking what he called "freedom from ‘AAP-da,’" referring to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Speaking at a press briefing, Sachdeva emphasized the BJP's commitment to ushering in a “double-engine government” to accelerate Delhi’s development.
“5th February will be the day of freedom from ‘AAP-da’ in Delhi,” said Sachdeva, echoing Home Minister Amit Shah’s earlier remarks. He accused the AAP government of stalling the city's progress and promised that a BJP-led administration would bring transformative changes to Delhi. “The double-engine government will once again work to make Delhi a developed Delhi,” he added, referring to the BJP’s governance model that emphasizes state-central alignment.
Sachdeva also reassured slum dwellers and economically weaker sections that the BJP remains committed to their welfare. “Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah have assured all slum families that no public welfare scheme will be stopped in Delhi and every poor will get a permanent house,” he said, underlining the BJP’s focus on housing and social welfare initiatives.
As Delhi gears up for a highly contested Assembly election, the BJP is ramping up its campaign against AAP, criticizing its governance while presenting itself as a viable alternative. Sachdeva’s statements reflect the party’s strategy to target key voter segments, including the urban poor, while promising better infrastructure and development under a BJP government.
