Delhi Police Tightens Security for New Year's Eve Celebrations

Ahead of New Year celebrations, Delhi Police deploys over 600 personnel and CAPF companies for security. DCP Devesh Kumar Mahla assures strict action against drunk driving to ensure safety.

New Delhi: Ahead of the New Year's Eve celebrations, Delhi Police has made extensive security arrangements across the national capital to ensure safety and order. Devesh Kumar Mahla, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), informed that approximately 600 local police personnel, along with several companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), have been deployed in key areas.

 

"We have made adequate deployment for security," Mahla said, emphasizing that the police presence will be heightened throughout the city to manage large gatherings and prevent any untoward incidents.

 

The DCP also stressed that special attention will be given to drunk driving cases, with strict actions to be taken against violators. "We will take strict action in drunk and drive cases," he stated, highlighting the increased focus on road safety during the festivities.

 

Authorities are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a safe and secure environment for revelers, with enhanced patrolling in vulnerable areas and heightened surveillance in popular spots.
