Ahmedabad, June 13 — Delhi Leader of Opposition and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening to meet survivors and offer condolences following the devastating crash of Air India Flight AI-171, which claimed 241 lives and left one critically injured.

Speaking to reporters at the Ahmedabad airport, Atishi called the incident “heart-wrenching” and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families, the injured, and authorities working on the ground.

“The Air India plane crash is a heart-wrenching incident. Two hundred and forty-one passengers died, many of them medical students, and many others were injured,” Atishi said. “We have come here to visit the trauma centre. AAP stands with the state government and the local people.”

Atishi also offered condolences to former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, whose family is believed to be among those affected by the crash. Without delving into the causes of the disaster, she emphasized the need for a thorough and timely investigation.

“The investigation should be done, and we should not speculate anything unless the report comes,” she said.
