New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday reviewed the city’s ongoing pollution control measures and issued a stern warning to officials, stating that any form of negligence or laxity in addressing the worsening air quality would invite strict disciplinary action.
Chairing a high-level meeting with senior officials from departments including the Environment, Transport, and Municipal Corporations, Gupta directed agencies to ensure full implementation of the government’s anti-pollution plan.
“Any negligence in pollution control efforts will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty of dereliction of duty,” the Chief Minister said, emphasising the need for close coordination among departments to tackle the seasonal spike in air pollution.
She also reviewed measures related to dust control, waste management, vehicular emissions, and stubble burning, urging enforcement teams to step up field inspections and public awareness campaigns.
Gupta instructed officials to keep real-time monitoring of air quality data and ensure immediate redressal of violations reported under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
