Karnal, Haryana | In a pointed political remark during her visit to Karnal, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed confidence in Haryana’s continued cooperation with Delhi, while simultaneously criticizing Punjab’s governance challenges.
"I believe that Delhi will keep getting full cooperation from the state of Haryana," Gupta said, acknowledging the collaborative efforts between the two neighbouring states on key issues like water sharing, transport, and pollution control.
However, Gupta did not mince words when addressing the situation in Punjab. “Some forces are acting like an eclipse on the state of Punjab, which is why neither Punjab is able to develop nor maintain proper coordination with other states,” she remarked. The Delhi CM’s comments are being interpreted as a veiled criticism of Punjab’s current political leadership, which has often been at odds with Delhi on various administrative and policy matters.
