Tarn Taran, Punjab: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday addressed a high-energy public rally in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate contesting the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election, scheduled for November 11. Drawing a large crowd, Gupta called on the people to vote for the BJP, saying the by-election was about shaping the “future direction of Punjab’s development.”

Highlighting the achievements of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said the BJP’s governance model is focused on welfare, infrastructure, and empowerment. Gupta also cited Delhi’s progress under the BJP’s welfare-oriented policies as an example of “development with accountability.”

“This by-election is not merely about one seat but about deciding the direction of Punjab’s future and development,” she said.

Launching a scathing attack on the Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Gupta accused it of corruption and mismanagement. She alleged that the “Land Pooling” scheme was designed to grab people’s land but had to be withdrawn following strong public opposition. “Now, they are selling public lands. When no new roads, bridges, or colleges have been built, where has all the money gone?” she asked.
