Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior colleagues, visited the holy city of Amritsar on Sunday, offering prayers at several revered sites before concluding their spiritual journey at Valmiki Tirath (Ram Tirath). The visit was part of a day-long pilgrimage aimed at seeking blessings for the continued welfare and progress of the national capital.

The delegation began the day by bowing their heads at the Golden Temple, one of Sikhism’s most sacred shrines. They later visited the Durga Mata Temple, where they prayed for strength and guidance. Their final stop was the Valmiki Bhagwan Temple—believed to be the birthplace of Lav and Kush—where they participated in rituals and interacted with the temple priests.

Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, speaking about the visit, said, “Our Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and all our ministers and colleagues have come to this sacred place. First, we bowed our heads at the Golden Temple. Then we visited the Durga Mata Temple, and now we have received blessings at the Valmiki Bhagwan Temple.” He added that the leaders prayed “to all the deities for guidance so that the good work happening in Delhi continues and so that we can serve Delhi even better.”
