Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated the newly constructed building of the District Social Welfare Office, stating that the facility will significantly improve the delivery of essential welfare services to citizens. Speaking at the event, she said the upgraded infrastructure would streamline public access to various social welfare schemes.
“Today the new building of the District Social Welfare Office is ready… In this new building, the public will get better facilities,” Gupta said. She added that all schemes under the Social Welfare Department would now be administered more efficiently from the new premises, ensuring faster and more convenient service for beneficiaries.
In a separate event, the Chief Minister also flagged off a fresh batch of electric buses as part of the government’s ongoing expansion of Delhi’s green public transport network. Gupta said the administration has been consistently strengthening the EV bus fleet to provide cleaner, more sustainable mobility options for the city.
“Continuously, the Delhi government is giving a fleet of EV buses to Delhi, today also we have given 40 EV buses to Delhi,” she said. According to her, nearly 1,400 buses have been inducted into the city’s public transport system over the last eight months.
