New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Helmet Wearing Consequences’ campaign, an initiative aimed at increasing public awareness about the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers. The campaign is part of the Delhi government’s broader effort to improve road safety and curb the rising number of traffic accidents.

Speaking at the launch, Gupta said that many road mishaps in the national capital could be prevented if riders consistently wore helmets. She noted that the new awareness drive would target both education and behavioural change, highlighting the potentially life-saving benefits of helmet use.

The campaign will include outreach activities across schools, colleges, and community hubs, with young volunteers serving as brand ambassadors to engage directly with the public. The government also plans to utilise social media platforms, street plays, and visual demonstrations to reinforce the safety message.
