New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday honored the medallists of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics at a special event held at the Dr. BR Ambedkar School of Specialised Excellence. Praising their dedication and resilience, Atishi highlighted the immense hope and pride the nation places in its athletes.
Addressing the gathering, Atishi said, “Sportspersons work hard day and night; they have a goal. But I sometimes feel that even you people don’t realize with how much hope the people of this country look at you.” Her heartfelt speech underscored the symbolic importance of athletes as role models and carriers of national pride.
The felicitation ceremony celebrated the achievements of athletes who brought glory to India at the Paris Games. Atishi emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting sports infrastructure and fostering talent, ensuring that future athletes receive the resources and encouragement needed to excel on the global stage.
