Delhi: In a sharp attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused him of prioritizing self-indulgence over public welfare. Sachdeva’s remarks came in response to Kejriwal hosting a 'Mahila Adalat' to address women’s issues.

"It would have been better if the Adalat happened inside the 'Sheesh Mahal'. He should have shown how he looted the people of Delhi and built that 'Sheesh Mahal'," said Sachdeva, referring to the controversial allegations about extravagant spending on Kejriwal’s official residence.

Taking further aim at the AAP government’s track record, Sachdeva raised concerns about conditions in Delhi’s slum areas. "We have visited slum areas, and there is no such slum where the electricity bill isn't coming. The quality of water is really bad, and corruption remains the biggest issue you (AAP) want to escape from," he said.

Sachdeva’s remarks underscore BJP’s focus on targeting AAP’s governance as the political temperature rises ahead of the upcoming elections. Issues such as alleged mismanagement of resources, inadequate delivery of basic amenities like electricity and water, and corruption have been key points of contention between the BJP and AAP.
