Delhi Assembly Elections Witness Peaceful Polling; 57.7% Voter Turnout Till 5 PM

Polling continues till 6 PM, voters in queue to be allowed to cast their votes.

New Delhi: All 70 Assembly constituencies of the National Capital Territory of Delhi went to polls today in a peaceful and festive atmosphere. Voting commenced at 7 AM and will continue till 6 PM, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI).

As of 5 PM, the provisional voter turnout stood at 57.7%, reflecting significant public participation in the democratic process. The final turnout is expected to increase as voters still in queues at the time of closing will be allowed to cast their ballots.

Polling stations across the city reported smooth conduct, with tight security arrangements ensuring law and order. Citizens, from first-time voters to senior citizens, turned up in large numbers, with many expressing enthusiasm about exercising their right to vote.
