New Delhi — In a strongly worded statement, BJP leader CR Kesavan on Tuesday lashed out at the Congress party, accusing it of failing its national duty and undermining public sentiment in the aftermath of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Kesavan specifically targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning his moral position as he prepares to meet the grieving family of Shubham Dwivedi — a civilian victim of the recent terror assault. “With what face is Mr. Rahul Gandhi going to meet the grieving family of Shubham Dwivedi ji?” Kesavan asked, highlighting reports that terrorists had asked the victim’s family whether they were Hindu or Muslim before executing Shubham after learning he was Hindu.
He criticized Congress for remaining silent over controversial remarks made by Karnataka minister R. B. Timmapur, who allegedly questioned whether terrorists would inquire about religion before attacking. “Rahul Gandhi never condemned that statement. Will he now apologise to the families for such insensitivity?” Kesavan asked.

The BJP leader accused the Congress of demoralizing the country and empowering Pakistan through divisive rhetoric. Referring to a recent Congress social media post targeting Prime Minister Modi, Kesavan said, “It was not just an attack on Prime Minister Modi, it was an attack on the country and its people.”
He called on the Congress leadership to stop shielding Pakistan and instead issue a heartfelt apology to the families of terror victims. “India, under PM Modi’s leadership, will give a befitting reply to Pakistan,” he asserted, adding that national unity and public confidence must not be undermined for political gain.
