Patna, June 24 — As political temperatures rise ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D. Raja voiced strong confidence in the defeat of the ruling alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Speaking to the media in Patna, Raja said, “We are confident that the BJP and its alliance with CM Nitish Kumar will be defeated. People have reached this conclusion after enduring what they see as a disastrous rule under Nitish Kumar, supported by the BJP.”

He accused the current administration of failing on governance, economic justice, and public welfare, claiming widespread disillusionment among the masses. “The public sentiment is changing, and there’s a clear desire for an alternative rooted in secularism and democracy,” he added.

Raja further emphasized the importance of seat-sharing unity among opposition forces, particularly among secular democratic parties and the Left. “Our wish is that all secular parties develop mutual trust, especially on the question of seat-sharing,” he said. “We must learn from mistakes in Haryana and Delhi, where lack of coordination in seat-sharing weakened the democratic front.”
