New Delhi — Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja on Monday said he has received no official communication regarding any INDIA bloc meeting, amid reports that leaders of the opposition alliance will gather at the Constitution Club later today to brief the media.

“I have no information about any meeting of the INDIA bloc. I have got no information from either Mr Kharge or Mr Rahul Gandhi,” Raja said, responding to media speculation surrounding an opposition strategy meeting. “As the Communist Party of India, we have been consistently demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss Operation Sindoor and related questions. The PM has not yet uttered a word about what Mr Trump said. I don't know whether or not Mr Modi and his government will agree to a special session of Parliament,” he added.

Operation Sindoor — India’s recent military response targeting nine terror bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir — has remained a politically sensitive issue, especially in the wake of global commentary, including remarks from former U.S. President Donald Trump, which the opposition claims the Modi government has yet to address publicly.
