In a recent interview, CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah shared insights into the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir, discussing the varied voting patterns expected in the two regions. He stated, “There will be different types of voting in Jammu and in Kashmir. No doubt, BJP will have an edge in Jammu, but not an overwhelming edge as the people of Jammu are not very happy with the BJP government.”

Mollah emphasized that the dissatisfaction stems from unresolved issues, particularly concerning the welfare of the Pandit community, which he believes has not been adequately addressed. He highlighted the significant grievances among the Pandits, stating, “The problem of Pandits have not been looked into properly.”

Turning his focus to Kashmir, Mollah pointed out that minorities in the region have faced severe challenges, including "serious negligence" and violations of their rights. He noted, “There is widespread unemployment, and these series of negative things will impact voting in Kashmir.” His remarks suggest that the BJP's standing in the region could be affected by the collective discontent among various communities.

As the elections draw near, Mollah's analysis indicates that voter sentiment will be shaped by the government's handling of local issues, making the upcoming elections a crucial test for the BJP's influence in both Jammu and Kashmir.
