Court Grants Time for FDR Verification in Amanatullah Khan's Bail

By A Staff Reporter

Delhi:The Rouse Avenue Court has granted additional time to the Investigating Officer (IO) of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to verify the Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) furnished as part of bail conditions for AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in the Delhi Waqf Board money laundering case.

The court had earlier directed Khan’s release, conditional upon furnishing a surety bond of Rs 1 lakh. The address and identification of the surety, Bahar Alam, were verified. However, the verification of the FDR could not proceed as banks were closed on Friday due to a public holiday.

The court acknowledged the procedural delay and scheduled the matter along with the main case on November 23. Amanatullah Khan's release remains contingent upon the successful verification of the FDR.

Khan is under investigation by the ED for alleged money laundering linked to the functioning of the Delhi Waqf Board. His legal team has maintained his innocence, asserting that the charges are politically motivated. Meanwhile, the ED continues its probe into the financial dealings of the board.

The next hearing is expected to provide clarity on the FDR verification and determine the subsequent course of action.
