Delhi | Congress leader Alka Lamba on Monday criticized the BJP-led government in Delhi for the city’s worsening air quality, accusing authorities of failing to take timely action and letting residents suffer. Speaking to the media, Lamba said the situation has become particularly severe following the lifting of certain restrictions.
“The people of Delhi are suffocating because of their failures. Who went to the court to lift the restrictions? The restrictions were lifted under pressure and today Delhi is suffocating. The sky has turned dark, elderly people have started reaching hospitals. Who will take responsibility for this?” Lamba questioned.
She asserted that the BJP, which currently holds power across all levels of government in Delhi, should be accountable for addressing the crisis. “Today you should answer, but you are wasting time in blaming the previous governments, whereas you should have taken some immediate measures. The BJP government has completely failed,” she added.
