Delhi: Congress leader Udit Raj on Monday levelled serious allegations against the BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI), claiming that the outcome of the Bihar Assembly elections was manipulated to project a veneer of fairness. Speaking to reporters in the capital, he alleged that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s victory was “ensured” despite his initial deficit during early counting trends.
“Tejashwi Yadav did not win the elections, but they—the BJP and the Election Commission—ensured his victory, as he was trailing till the evening,” Raj said. He claimed that Tejashwi’s eventual win was manufactured to make the overall election results appear credible and balanced. “To justify and present the elections as fair, they made sure he won,” he remarked.
Udit Raj further alleged that technological tools such as EVMs and SIR (Symbol Input Register) were being misused to predetermine outcomes in favour of the ruling party. “SIR and EVMs are being used as tools to secure their win, and they will destroy the Constitution of India,” he said, repeating his long-standing criticism of electronic voting systems.
He went on to assert that the elections were “already decided” long before the results were announced. “They knew exactly what would happen,” he claimed, suggesting that democratic processes were being systematically undermined.
