In a sharp response to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey’s controversial remark accusing the Chief Justice of India (CJI) of being responsible for civil wars, senior Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has called for an immediate investigation into the statement, labeling it “almost criminal.”

Dikshit, a former Member of Parliament, expressed deep concern over what he described as an “extremely provocative” statement made against the highest constitutional authority in the judiciary. “The post of Chief Justice is a constitutional post and the highest post. Such a provocative remark, which has been given by a member of the leading party, is concerning,” Dikshit said.

He further alleged that Dubey’s remark may not be a personal opinion but possibly a reflection of a larger political directive. “It is believed that he says what he has been told,” he noted, suggesting a troubling trend of undermining judicial independence through orchestrated narratives.
