Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday said the party held a detailed internal review of its performance inside and outside Parliament during the ongoing Winter Session, assessing how effectively it raised issues concerning workers, public safety, and governance. Speaking in Delhi after the meeting, Gogoi said senior leaders evaluated the impact of their interventions on topics ranging from labour code reforms to the IndiGo airline disruptions and rising air pollution across major cities.

“We reviewed how effectively we raised people’s issues inside and outside Parliament,” Gogoi said, noting that the discussion covered both floor strategy and public messaging. He highlighted that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha and Priyanka Gandhi in the Lok Sabha “gave the full truth on Vande Mataram,” claiming they exposed what he described as the BJP’s political intent behind the controversy.

Gogoi added that the meeting also revisited Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s confrontation with the Home Minister over allegations of “vote theft.” He said Rahul Gandhi “challenged the Home Minister in the House to debate the evidence he presented,” which, according to Gogoi, left the minister “unsettled” and prompted “hurried, unparliamentary remarks.”
