New Delhi: The Delhi government’s approval of the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, aimed at providing ₹2,500 per month to women, has sparked political criticism. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit questioned the scheme’s allocation, suggesting that only a fraction of the intended beneficiaries would actually receive the funds.

"₹51,000 crore have been allocated, which means only 20-25% of those they claim to cover will actually get the money," Dikshit said. He also accused the BJP of making exaggerated promises during their election campaign, where they had pledged financial support for all women above 18 years of age.

The scheme, intended to support women’s financial independence, has been positioned as a major welfare initiative. However, opposition leaders argue that its execution may fall short of expectations, raising concerns over budget constraints and actual implementation.
