Hyderabad, Telangana: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud announced Congress's commitment to implementing a caste survey if elected to power, aiming to ensure representation in proportion to population demographics. Speaking in Hyderabad, Goud highlighted that CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi have all voiced strong support for the survey.
“The caste survey will be done after the formation of a Congress government in Telangana to do justice in proportion to their population,” Goud emphasized. He affirmed that the party is prepared to uphold its promise, despite the state’s current financial strain. According to Goud, mismanagement by the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has left Telangana’s finances in disarray, yet he asserted that this would not deter Congress from fulfilling its commitments.
Goud criticized the BRS for what he described as a “loot” of the state’s resources, adding, “They have no moral right to criticize the government.” He assured that the caste survey would provide a foundation for more equitable policies, reflecting Congress’s pledge to improve governance and transparency in Telangana if elected.
