New Delhi | A heated debate erupted in Parliament following a breach of privilege notice filed by BJP MPs against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Pappu Yadav over their remarks on the President's Address. In response, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari staunchly defended his party colleagues, asserting that their comments were neither unparliamentary nor derogatory.
Tiwari stated, “None of the words in the remarks were unparliamentary or derogatory. The one who insulted the post of President actually is Prime Minister Modi and his Cabinet.” He went on to highlight instances that, in his view, disrespected the office of the President, citing the PM’s inauguration of the new Parliament building and the exclusion of President Droupadi Murmu from the Ram Mandir 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony. “The Prime Minister inaugurated the new Parliament himself and didn’t invite the President for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha because she belongs to a Scheduled Tribe,” Tiwari alleged.
