New Delhi: Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari on Wednesday strongly condemned the violence that recently erupted in Murshidabad, West Bengal, expressing both sorrow and concern over the incident. In a sharply worded statement, Tiwari said, “My heart aches with whatever happened in Murshidabad... Violence should not be done by anyone, anywhere in any form. It should be stopped with full force.”
While urging for immediate and decisive action to prevent further unrest, Tiwari did not shy away from pointing fingers at those in positions of responsibility. “Those who have failed in playing their role should have fulfilled their duties,” he said, suggesting lapses in law enforcement or administrative response.
What stood out in Tiwari’s remarks was his veiled allegation that the violence may not have been spontaneous. “The question is, are the allegations correct? Is it true that this violence was fabricated by those whose responsibility was to stop the violence?” he asked.
Tiwari emphasized that if such allegations of orchestration by authorities hold true, it would set a deeply troubling precedent for the country. “If that is true, then it is not a good sign for our nation,” he warned.
