New Delhi: Congress MP KC Venugopal has criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her handling of the Union Budget 2024, accusing her of misleading the country and neglecting key states.
"Actually, she is misleading the country. Anyway, she is going to reply on the Budget. She should tell us what she is giving to Kerala, to Karnataka, to Uttar Pradesh, to Punjab, to Haryana, to Maharashtra," Venugopal stated, questioning the budget's allocations.
He pointed out that in Sitharaman's 1 hour 40 minute-long speech, she failed to mention several major states. "In her 1 hour 40 minutes long speech, she has not even spelled some of the major states, including Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh. That is why, we are mentioning that. She only misled the House," he added.
