In the wake of the recent Haryana elections, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh addressed the party's performance and the challenges ahead. He stated, "Whatever analysis we have to do about Haryana, we will definitely do it. But first of all, we have to send the complaints that are coming from different districts to the Election Commission." Ramesh acknowledged the necessity of introspection but stressed that the immediate focus should be on addressing the irregularities that occurred during the elections.
"The most important thing right now is that the victory has been snatched from us, and the system has been misused. The sentiments of the people indicated a desire for change, but the result does not reflect that," he added, promising a comprehensive analysis to follow.
Shifting his focus to the Jammu and Kashmir elections, Ramesh admitted, "I accept that our performance should have been better in Jammu." He indicated that there would be discussions to understand the underlying reasons for this shortfall. Drawing attention to the Congress party's previous successes, he reminded, "In Maharashtra, I want to remind you that the Congress party was in first place in the Lok Sabha elections."
Looking ahead, Ramesh expressed optimism about the potential for a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, stating, "We hope that soon an NC and INC alliance government will be formed, a common program will be prepared, and we will make every effort to fulfill the expectations of the people."
