Amid surging tensions between India and Pakistan following “Operation Sindoor,” Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit launched a scathing attack on Pakistan’s military and leadership, calling their actions “cowardly” and lacking in dignity.
Speaking in Delhi on Wednesday, Dikshit said, “All the acts done by Pakistan and its army are cowardly. They do not have the courage to fight with dignity. Tell me one thing in the last 40–50 years that they have done with dignity.” His comments reflect growing domestic anger in India over the April 22 Pahalgam massacre that killed 26 civilians and the subsequent Pakistani response to India’s retaliatory strikes.
Dikshit went further to suggest that Pakistan is facing a crisis of identity and direction. “Now Pakistan is trapped. On one side, there is its destruction, and on the other side, there is this fight for its fake self-respect,” he said. The Congress leader also drew a stark contrast between India’s targeted military strikes on what it claims were terror infrastructure and Pakistan’s alleged targeting of civilians.
“We attacked their terror hotspots, and they attacked our civilians. If they want war, then they will get war,” he warned, echoing the broader mood of defiance seen in political circles across India.
