Congress leader Danish Ali responded sharply to the BJP’s recent labeling of Rahul Gandhi as the "poster boy of Pakistan," turning the focus onto the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handling of diplomatic challenges, particularly regarding former U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims about initiating the ceasefire with Pakistan.
“Narendra Modi and the BJP have no answers,” Ali stated. “Donald Trump repeatedly claims he was the one who initiated the ceasefire. Modi ji tweets daily, gives speeches—yet remains silent on this.” He questioned why Modi, who refers to Trump as his ‘dear friend,’ has not publicly challenged Trump’s narrative or explained what business interests might be influencing such treatment of India.
“We thought that if we raised this issue publicly, perhaps Modi ji would respond to Trump's claims,” Ali said, highlighting what he sees as a lack of transparency in the government’s foreign policy approach.
Ali further accused Modi’s personal relationships with foreign leaders of causing harm to India’s interests. “Because of Modi ji’s personal relationships, India is being made to suffer. He owes the country an answer.”
He criticized the BJP for targeting Rahul Gandhi when the Congress leader raises these concerns instead of addressing the issues. “But when Rahul Gandhi raises these questions, the BJP attacks him instead,” Ali added.
