Delhi: Following the Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting at the Congress Headquarters, AICC Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria provided an update on the party’s candidate selection process for the Haryana Legislative Assembly elections. Babaria stated that discussions had taken place regarding 49 assembly seats.
"Discussion on 49 seats was taken up and 34 of them have been declared. Fifteen seats have been sent for review," Babaria said. He also mentioned that out of the 34 confirmed seats, 22 are for current MLAs.
Babaria further noted that the names for the remaining seats would be finalized in the next two to three days. When asked about Vinesh Phogat’s potential candidacy, he mentioned, "We will clarify about Vinesh Phogat tomorrow." He also assured that the full list of candidates would be released within the next two days.
The meeting reflects the Congress party's ongoing efforts to finalize its slate of candidates ahead of the Haryana Legislative Assembly elections, as it aims to strengthen its position in the state.
