NEW DELHI: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) convened today to assess the current political scenario in India, focusing on the party’s performance in recent assembly elections. The meeting, which saw the participation of 81 attendees, including CWC members, permanent and special invitees, along with Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs of various states, involved a comprehensive discussion on key issues impacting the party's future course.
Congress MP KC Venugopal addressed the media after the meeting, providing insights into the discussions held. "The CWC had a detailed discussion on the current political situation in the country, including the recently concluded assembly elections. We analyzed the performance of the party in the last assembly election," Venugopal said.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the decision to set up internal committees to evaluate the party’s electoral performance and address organizational matters at the block and district levels. "The CWC has decided to constitute internal committees to look into the matters related to electoral performance and organizational issues in the blocks and districts," Venugopal added.
The meeting reflects Congress’ focus on internal reforms and strategic reviews as it prepares for future electoral challenges. The party aims to streamline its organizational structure and improve its performance in upcoming elections through these assessments.
