Delhi – As the controversy over the residences of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi heats up, Congress leader Gurdeep Singh Sappal has stepped into the debate, criticizing both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their focus on each other’s alleged extravagance.

Speaking on the issue, Sappal said, "BJP is attacking AAP on the issue of 'Sheesh Mahal,' and AAP is attacking BJP on the new PM residence. Both of them are trying to make allegations against each other."

Sappal emphasized that the Congress party, which ruled the country for 55 years, demonstrated simplicity and integrity in leadership. "Between all of this, there is a third party, the Congress party. Congress party has ruled for 55 years, and three members of the Gandhi family have been Prime Ministers. Even today, if you visit Sonia Gandhi's residence, you will see what simplicity is. It is that family who donated their Anand Bhavan for the country," he said.

He further contrasted the Congress leadership with the alleged extravagance of current leaders, pointing to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s tenure. "Even if you see Manmohan Singh, he did not change the vehicle that was used by Atal Bihari Vajpayee when he was the Prime Minister. Manmohan Singh used the same car for 10 years," Sappal added.
