Mumbai: Congress in-charge for Maharashtra, Ramesh Chennithala, has expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) ability to form the next government in the state. Addressing the media, he said the people of Maharashtra are disillusioned with the current state and central governments and are leaning towards the MVA for change.
"The Maha Vikas Aghadi is very confident of forming the government in Maharashtra. The people are against the present-day governments at the state and center. Exit polls are not reflecting the reality," Chennithala said, dismissing the predictions of recent exit polls.
He emphasized that the alliance has been addressing the issues that matter to the people, contrasting it with the BJP's alleged strategy of resorting to communal politics. "We are touching on the real issues. BJP has always resorted to dividing people along communal lines. I feel people in Maharashtra will vote for the Maha Vikas Aghadi and we will form the government," he added.
Chennithala's remarks come amidst heightened political activity and speculation as exit polls continue to dominate public discourse. The Congress leader remains firm that these polls do not capture the sentiments on the ground and that the MVA will emerge victorious.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi, an alliance comprising the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Shiv Sena (UBT), is banking on anti-incumbency and promises of addressing people's grievances to secure a mandate in the state. The final results will determine whether Chennithala's optimism aligns with electoral realities.
