CM Yogi Inaugurates Maharaja Suheldev Memorial, Unveils ₹1,243 Cr Projects on Vijay Diwas

Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh: Marking Vijay Diwas with grandeur and symbolism, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the much-anticipated Maharaja Suheldev Memorial in Bahraich on Monday. The centrepiece of the memorial is a towering 40-foot bronze statue of the legendary king, constructed at a cost of ₹40 crore, aimed at honoring his historical legacy and valor.

The Chief Minister also dedicated a total of 384 development projects in the district, collectively worth ₹1,243 crore. These projects span sectors including infrastructure, health, education, and rural development, reinforcing the government’s commitment to comprehensive regional growth.

During the event, the district administration presented a replica of the Maharaja Suheldev statue to the Chief Minister as a token of appreciation. In a touching cultural gesture, CM Yogi also performed naming (namkaran) and Annaprashan (first rice feeding) ceremonies for five children, underscoring the cultural and familial ethos of the occasion.

“This memorial is not just a statue but a tribute to the spirit of sacrifice and bravery that Maharaja Suheldev embodies,” said Yogi Adityanath during his address. He reiterated his government’s dedication to preserving historical heritage while accelerating developmental progress in historically significant regions like Bahraich.
