Gorakhpur, June 4, 2025 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly built Kalyan Mandapam in Surajkund, Gorakhpur on Tuesday, highlighting the initiative as a significant step towards inclusive and affordable public spaces for community events.
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi said, “If someone wants to organise an auspicious event, and gets such a big Kalyan Mandapam for just ₹11,000 or ₹25,000, he can easily organise any program in a very good manner by inviting all his friends, relatives and everyone.”

He commended the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation for spearheading the project. “Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation is the first municipal body in the state to start this initiative. This is the 7th Kalyan Mandapam under its jurisdiction—one has already been inaugurated, the second is being inaugurated now, and five more are under construction,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also revealed his personal support for the project, sharing, “I have given the entire amount of my MLA fund for the construction of these Kalyan Mandapams only.”
