New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence in the national capital, a meeting that was later highlighted through photos shared by the Defence Minister’s official 'X' handle. In addition to this high-profile meeting, CM Yogi also called on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, further underscoring his active engagements in Delhi.
Earlier in the day, CM Yogi conducted an on-ground inspection of the ambitious Ganga Expressway project, asserting that the entire project is on track for completion by November this year. Stretching approximately 600 kilometres from Meerut to Prayagraj, the Ganga Expressway is set to be one of India’s longest and most significant infrastructure undertakings.
Speaking about the project, Yogi Adityanath remarked, "This is one of the longest expressways in the country... It holds the ability to land any fighter or commercial aircraft." He inspected the construction work personally in Hardoi district, stressing the project's strategic and economic importance.
The Ganga Expressway, with a proposed length of 594 kilometres, will become the second-longest expressway in India after the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway. Uttar Pradesh already boasts four expressways among the top 10 in India, and with the Ganga Expressway’s completion, it will strengthen its position with five major expressways. The project will seamlessly link 518 villages across 12 districts, enhancing connectivity and boosting regional development across the state.
