Varanasi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday distributed sewing machines and laptops to students as part of a state initiative aimed at promoting skill development and digital access. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said more than 250 girls were being given sewing machines, while students were also receiving computer training along with laptops.
“I congratulate all those daughters, sisters, and students who are receiving sewing machines and are also being provided with laptops,” Adityanath said during the distribution ceremony. He added that the effort was part of the state government’s broader push to enhance self-employment opportunities and improve technological literacy among youth and women.
The event in Varanasi saw large participation from local students and beneficiaries. Officials said the distribution drive seeks to support both traditional skills such as tailoring and modern skills such as computer literacy, enabling beneficiaries to become more self-reliant.
