Gorakhpur, July 23 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation for its ongoing cleanliness initiatives, acknowledging the efforts of sanitation workers, councillors, and local committees in contributing to the city’s improved hygiene standards.
Speaking during a program in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister noted that the state government had earlier set a target for the municipal corporation to secure a place in the top ten rankings in its category in the nationwide Swachhata Survey conducted by the Government of India. This goal was linked with the sacred occasion of Shivratri during the Shravan month, a time of high spiritual and civic significance.
"I appreciate the entire team of the Municipal Corporation, including sanitation workers, councillors, and cleanliness committees, for their collective dedication," said Adityanath. He emphasized that such efforts not only improve the city's ranking but also reflect a broader commitment to public health and civic responsibility.
