Raipur | Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid solemn tribute to police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty as the state observed Police Commemoration Day on Monday. Remembering the supreme sacrifice of CRPF personnel who died defending the nation on October 21, 1969, Sai underscored the importance of the day as a moment to honour the courage and dedication of India’s police and paramilitary forces.

“Today is Police Commemoration Day. On this day, October 21, 1969, CRPF personnel laid down their lives while facing the Chinese contingent. Police Commemoration Day is celebrated to pay homage to the martyrs,” the Chief Minister said.

Highlighting the persistent challenge of Naxalism in the state, Sai reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to completely eliminating the menace. “Naxalism was an obstacle for the development of Chhattisgarh. Our jawans are fighting against it. PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s resolve is to eradicate Naxalism from the country by 31st March 2026,” he stated.
