Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has reiterated his government’s commitment to good governance and national security in two separate statements on Monday. Addressing the media, the Chief Minister spoke about the ongoing Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival) in the state and also responded to the Ministry of Home Affairs' (MHA) directive for emergency mock drills following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Sushasan Tihar began on April 8 and will continue till the end of May. Our government’s schemes and efforts are reaching the people, and they are satisfied,” said Sai, underlining that the festival has been instrumental in bringing public welfare initiatives directly to citizens. The event, according to officials, aims to showcase the delivery of public services and government transparency at the grassroots level.
On the national security front, CM Sai endorsed the MHA’s move to conduct mock emergency drills across the country in the wake of the targeted terror attack in Pahalgam, where the perpetrators reportedly asked the victims their religion before opening fire.
“The terrorists carried out the attack after asking about the victims’ religion in Pahalgam. Earlier too, India has responded to Pakistan’s actions with strength, and PM Modi is already taking action. These mock drills are also a form of preparedness,” he stated.
