New Delhi | While inspecting ongoing development projects in Shalimar Bagh, North West Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed both the local infrastructure issues and the somber national mood following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Gupta outlined efforts to tackle persistent water shortages in the area. "Lack of water is a huge problem for the people of Delhi. To solve that, we have started the work of laying pipelines here," she said. She added that comprehensive development initiatives, including the construction of streets, drains, and pavements in slum areas, were also underway to uplift local living conditions.
However, the Chief Minister acknowledged that the spirit of celebration was missing in light of the terror attack. "The whole of Delhi and the country are traumatised," Gupta said, referring to the incident that has left the nation in mourning. "In this environment, nobody feels like celebrating or inaugurating projects. We have inspected and initiated projects, but since our hearts are in pain, none of us feels like organising inaugurations."
