Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a handloom exhibition titled “Kunbi: The Pride of Goan Textile”, celebrating the state’s vibrant and historic textile tradition. The exhibition, aimed at honouring Goa's rich handloom legacy, showcases the artistry of the traditional Kunbi weave, known for its cultural significance and intricate craftsmanship.

The launch event was attended by Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, MLA Daji Salkar, and other dignitaries who joined the Chief Minister in appreciating the work of local artisans. Dr. Sawant congratulated the weavers and craftspeople whose creations are on display, calling them the custodians of Goan tradition.

“Our talented artisans breathe life into our heritage through their exceptional work,” the Chief Minister said, expressing pride in the craftsmanship that continues to draw national attention to Goa’s textile heritage. The exhibition not only aims to promote traditional Kunbi handlooms but also encourages wider recognition and commercial support for the weaving community.
