Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday inaugurated the Kerala Pavilion at the International Trade Fair, marking the state’s prominent presence at one of India’s largest annual commercial showcases. The 14-day fair, being held from November 14 to 27, draws participation from states, government departments, and global exhibitors, offering a platform for business engagement, cultural promotion, and trade opportunities.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vijayan highlighted Kerala’s diverse strengths—from tourism and traditional industries to emerging sectors like IT, startups, and sustainable development. The pavilion features curated exhibits that showcase the state’s signature products, including spices, coir, handloom, ayurvedic wellness offerings, and innovative technology-driven enterprises.

With the fair expected to receive nearly 60,000 visitors daily, authorities have implemented multi-layered security checks and enhanced surveillance systems across the venue. Delhi Police, along with security agencies, have deployed additional personnel to manage the heavy footfall and ensure smooth movement. Traffic restrictions have also been imposed in surrounding areas, particularly during peak hours, to avoid congestion.
