Srinagar, J&K: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed optimism about upcoming development projects in the region following the recent suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. Speaking after a meeting with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Abdullah outlined ongoing progress in key sectors and hinted at two major projects set to take shape—one in Kashmir and one in Jammu.

“I have both the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Progress is being made in both,” said Abdullah, emphasizing that development work was on track under his administration. “Now, after the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, we have two projects in front of us on which work can start soon,” he added.

The Chief Minister noted that discussions are already underway with the central government concerning both proposed projects. “Talks are going on with the central government regarding both the projects. Let’s see what happens next,” he said, keeping the specifics under wraps but indicating forward movement.
