Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday attended a special programme at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan, where he presented prizes to winners of the mega lucky draw held under the state’s “Bill Lao, Inaam Pao” scheme. The initiative, designed to encourage consumers to demand bills for their purchases, is gaining momentum across the state.
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami said the scheme has become an effective medium to promote transparency and strengthen consumer rights. He noted that responsible purchasing behaviour—especially insisting on receipts—directly supports the state’s economic system. “Every consumer is contributing to the development of the state,” he said, emphasising that such initiatives help curb tax evasion and promote fair trade practices.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the positive impact of the scheme on the state’s revenue trends. He said Uttarakhand’s GST collection has been rising steadily, attributing part of this growth to increased consumer awareness and compliance encouraged by the programme.
