Sri Sathya Sai: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered a thorough investigation into the tragic stampede that occurred at the Venkateswara Temple in Srikakulam district earlier on Friday, resulting in the deaths of at least ten devotees.

Expressing grief over the incident, Naidu said, “It is extremely painful that innocent people lost their lives in the stampede. I pay my respects to the deceased.” He added that the temple, located at Kashi Bugga, was constructed by a private individual and had drawn a massive crowd on the occasion of Kartika Ekadashi, a major religious event.

The Chief Minister stated that the organisers had failed to inform local authorities or the police about the expected turnout. “Had they informed us, we would have provided police protection and controlled the crowd,” Naidu said.
