Amaravati: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu paid tribute to the weavers of the state, recognising their contribution to preserving and promoting India’s cultural heritage. In a message posted on social media, the Chief Minister highlighted the enduring importance of the handloom sector and reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting skilled artisans.
Naidu described handloom weavers as the “custodians of culture,” who transform tradition into vibrant threads that shape the state's artistic legacy. “Our weavers are not just preserving the past; they are weaving the future of Andhra Pradesh,” he said, underscoring the economic and cultural significance of the craft.
He emphasized the role of handloom in safeguarding Andhra Pradesh’s identity and pledged to extend every possible support to the community. With deep-rooted weaving traditions in districts such as Mangalagiri, Dharmavaram, and Venkatagiri, the state remains one of India’s most prominent handloom hubs.
